Havre de Grace Twinning’s September Visit 2019

Inaugural Visit Is A Massive Triumph

Havre de Grace’s inaugural visit allowed the Twinning members to introduce themselves to the people they were staying with and the rest of the TAM’s members. It provided an opportunity for face-to-face interactions, helping to establish a personal connection and familiarity through various activities, including a walking tour of the town, a visit to St. Fagans, group meals, and a trip to Swansea University. We showed up and were brilliantly hosted, tended, transported, enlightened, educated, entertained, and charmed – completely.

A Tropical Storm Could Not Scare Them Away

Despite the torrential downpours, some Welsh weather followed our visitors, it was an absolute delight seeing familiar faces. We had a great time visiting the Conowingo Dam, attended the Friday night football game, church service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, museum tours, and minor day tours around the neighboring area. The official Charter signing ceremony occurred at City Hall before concluding the activities.

Fall 2023 Visit

Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.

The sun did shine for a few brief moments - like taking the group photo or taking a hike out to Wryms Head. Some new faces in the HdG Twinning group and old faces joined in on merriment as we strolled about the castle grounds, visited old churches, took a break at the pub, and enjoyed some medieval meals.
